Pride filled campuses across Katy ISD as student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent to compete at the collegiate level, marking another standout achievement for the District’s highly respected athletics programs.
Katy ISD’s marching band programs closed out the fall season on a high note as three District bands, Cinco Ranch High School, Seven Lakes High School and Freeman High School, advanced to the UIL State Marching Band Championships. This marked the first time in District history that three schools earned the opportunity to compete at the state level in the same year.
Katy Independent School District celebrates more than 100 students this week for earning the prestigious distinction of being named 2026 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®).
Katy ISD highlighted its continued tradition of academic excellence and innovation at the 2025 State of the District event held in the Leonard Merrell Center.
Academic excellence continues to thrive across Katy ISD, as 325 students earned the AP Capstone Diploma™ and 20 students earned the AP Seminar and Research Certificate™ during the 2024-25 school year.
The morning film session ended on a high note for the Cinco Ranch Cougars. As the team prepared to wrap up and head to class, cameras, cheer leaders and Houston Texans representatives rushed into the film room, surprising Cinco Ranch High School Head Football Coach Chris Dudley with the Houston Texans Coach of the Week award
